Obituary of Charles Vincent Horseman

Charles “Chucky” Horseman, resident of Horse Lake First Nation, AB, passed away on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at Horse Lake First Nation, at the age of 29 years.

 

Chucky was born on February 9, 1995, to parents Charles Horseman and Donna Mineault in Grande Prairie, AB. He was born and raised in Horse Lake.

 

Chucky was taking his GED in Grande Prairie. Following his graduation, he had planned to become a carpenter, just like his father.

 

On January 1, 2023, Chucky and Olivia Whitford became the proud parents of a beautiful baby girl named Kiarah Storm Horseman-Whitford.

 

Chucky was funny, always playing pranks; he was a kind, loving, and caring young man who respected his elders. He was helpful and very thoughtful. He loved his family, his aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends all the same. 

 

He was an avid hockey player and enjoyed hunting, fishing, quadding, camping, baseball, paintball, and spending most of his time with his family.

 

Chucky will be sadly missed by his common-law spouse Olivia Whitford; daughter Kiarah Horseman-Whitford; parents Charles (Alvina) Horseman and Donna Mineault (Melvin Willier); mother-in-law Kim Chowace; father-in-law Lenny Whitford; siblings: Leslee Horseman, Tad Horseman (Doug), Brandi Horseman, Cady Horseman, Ryan Gladue (Sheri), Melissa Gladue (Justice), and Karl Chowace; stepsiblings: Lyric Chowace, Katrina Goodswimmer, and Lorraine Chowace.

 

He was predeceased by Christine Horseman, Lee Laglace, Verna Smith, Delia Horseman, Don Horseman, Audrey Pederson, Eileen Savard, Ruth Gladue, Christine Thomas-Horseman, Jean Mineault, Blanche Mineault, Ralph Mineault, and brother Shane Gladue.

 

A Wake will be held on Friday, February 16, 2024, at 6:00 pm at the Horse Lake First Nation Arena.

 

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at 11:00 am, at the Horse Lake First Nation Arena. Interment to follow at the Horse Lake First Nation Cemetery.

 

Memorial donations can be made to the Horse Lake Minor Hockey Association ( Box 303, Hythe, AB, T0H 2C0).
